Transport at Zijderlaan
Constantly in motion.
Flexible in implementation, certain in results.
‘Constantly in motion’ characterises our flexibility in transport and logistics. With years of national and international experience, our drivers and planners have extensive knowledge. Whether it concerns bulk, general cargo, bulk cargo, liquid or containers: we always offer the most efficient solution with suitable equipment and certified drivers. Delivery takes place as agreed, on time and at the right place.
Thanks to our chain management, customers benefit from competitive rates. We search for the best solutions every day and, if desired, take care of the entire logistics process. Our goal: not only to meet expectations, but to exceed them — in both transport and logistics.

sea containers
Zijderlaan provides sea container transport to and from Rotterdam, Moerdijk and Antwerp. Thanks to our favourable location and multifunctional chassis, we transport 20-, 30-, 40- and 45-foot, 2×20-foot, high-cube and reefer containers.
Campaigns

sugar beet campaign
Every autumn, Zijderlaan is active in the sugar beet campaign. Due to the ever-increasing processing capacity of the two Dutch factories in Hoogkerk and Dinteloord, tight planning and driving are required. Zijderlaan is deployed for beet transport from Haarlemmermeer, Purmer/Beemster/Schermer, South Holland, Betuwe and Achterhoek to Dinteloord and from Wieringermeer, Friesland, Drenthe and Overijssel to Hoogkerk. All operations are managed from Stolwijk.
Grain campaign
The grain campaign is the peak season for the grain harvest. During these busy weeks, thousands of tonnes of wheat, barley, maize and other grains are harvested and transported.
Zijderlaan understands that perfect organisation and reliable logistics are essential to ensure that everything runs smoothly. With flexible planning and modern means of transport, we are ready every year to transport the grain safely, quickly and efficiently from the field to storage or processing.

Fleet

SUSTAINABLE FLEET
Our fleet (tractor units) consists of 80% DAF trucks. DAF is introducing a completely new range of trucks that complies with the new European regulations for dimensions and weights. With the new generation of trucks, DAF has achieved lower fuel consumption (up to 10%) and an equal reduction in CO2 emissions. This has been achieved in part through the optimal aerodynamic design. The highly energy-efficient vehicle platform is fully prepared for future powertrains, such as fuel cells and hydrogen combustion engines.
The state-of-the-art diesel engines are clean and economical and suitable for the latest generations of biofuels to further reduce CO2 emissions from road transport.
first electric truck
In May 2025, Zijderlaan put the first electric truck into service, in close collaboration with Cosun Beet Company. Together, we are taking an important step towards making our transport more sustainable. This joint initiative contributes to lower CO2 emissions and offers valuable insights into the practical application of electric transport for the future.
The electric truck, a DAF XF Electric, runs on the shuttle route between Cosun Beet Company's Specialities Factory in Roosendaal and Zijderlaan's distribution centre in Puttershoek. The route between the two locations covers 53 kilometres, making it perfectly suited for the electric truck. Taking into account the load factor, the truck has a range of approximately 300 kilometres. This means it can be used for all daily journeys without the need for intermediate charging.
