Thanks to our specialisms in multiple transport divisions, complemented by the added value we offer in our DC's, we are able to scale up during campaigns and respond specifically to customer-specific wishes and issues.

A committed and independently operating family business for over 85 years
Our company has been managed by the third generation since January 2022. Sabine (managing director) and Tim Zijderlaan (transport director) form the current management team together with Leo Lokker (commercial director) and Sjoerd Bosma (operations director). With the same standards and values as in the past, we have a clear strategy in mind, which will enable us to continue to distinguish ourselves in the market and to develop further in the areas of sustainability and digitisation.
An important advantage of a family business is that decisions are made quickly and directly thanks to short lines of communication. We believe in keeping our promises, which creates mutual trust.

Wim Zijderlaan
After nearly 50 years with the company, Wim Zijderlaan has stepped back and handed over the reins to the third generation. As a member of the Supervisory Board, Wim continues to play an active advisory role within the organisation.
Wim joined the company in 1973. Together with his brother Nico and a group of loyal employees, he gave Zijderlaan a tremendous boost. Nico mainly internally and Wim externally. In the beginning, they had about 35 vehicles and were mainly busy with their own transport for the trading company in wet animal feed. In 2005, this trading company was sold and Zijderlaan began to specialise as a logistics service provider. In 2010, Wim took over Nico's shares. This was a special moment, because they had always built the company together. Opportunities arose and the company grew and grew. The acquisition of Van de Lagemaat, the construction of DC Zijderlaan - Puttershoek and growth in a number of niche markets have led to the company as it stands today. Wim is proud to have handed over a beautiful family business with 220 vehicles, 330 employees, a state-of-the-art workshop and 3 DCs in Stolwijk, Puttershoek and Dinteloord.

Vision
Zijderlaan is developing as a logistics service provider offering a total concept for clients. By managing the entire chain, we take care of everything for every customer, allowing both the customer and Zijderlaan to focus on their core business. Customer-specific (innovative) solutions, trust and the realisation of the most cost-efficient operations are central to this.

Zijderlaan is “Constantly green in motion”. As one of our core values, sustainability plays an important role in our overall business operations. We continuously analyse our logistics transport flows and our gas, energy and diesel consumption (our footprint) so that we can optimise where possible and reduce CO2 emissions. Not only for ourselves, but also for our customers and the environment.
Nowadays, more and more is being asked and expected of every entrepreneur in the areas of sustainability, corporate social responsibility and the circular economy. The Netherlands faces the major challenge of drastically reducing CO2 emissions (by 49% by 2030 compared to 1990). To achieve these ambitious goals, everyone in the logistics chain will have to do their bit to reduce emissions. We are actively committed to improving our footprint as much as possible and helping our customers achieve their environmental goals. We closely follow sustainability developments and technologies and respond quickly to new opportunities.
